The Macallan Masters of Photography
Elliott Erwitt brings his Great Scottish Adventure to Mexico
Next stop on our Masters of Photography global adventure was Mexico City...
The day began with an exclusive lunch in the Diamond Salon with the menu specially created by the Chef at St. Regis to perfectly match our portfolio of The Macallan Fine Oak 12, 15 and 18 years old. In the evening Elliott charmed guests in the Museo Interactivo de Economia with tales of his expeditions as they explored his ‘Great Scottish Adventure’. The Macallan Fine Oak 12 with notes of fruit and heather honey was served with a singular sphere of ice, perfectly created by The Macallan Ice Ball Maker, or shaken in a Mojito. Mexican Jazz sensation Fela Dominguez and band mates entertained guests late into the night. Access all areas through our film of the celebrations.
You too can join us on our Masters of Photography journey by entering our Masterclass competition – we’re asking aspiring photographers around the world to capture the heart and soul of their homeland. Visit our Masters of Photography website and share your stories with us! Here are two of our favourites so far...
Bjorn van Sinttruije captured ‘accordion players in Ghent, Belgium’ he explains; ‘These gentlemen played the most wonderful music on a busy shopping street in Ghent. Their tunes and characters warmed up the whole street.’
Carlos Detres captured ‘the man in the window’ at The Spotted Cat on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans, he said; ‘I'm really into getting people's reactions of subjects I'm interested in photographing. I love watching humans, watch other humans and imagining what's on their mind.’
If you like what you see and think you can capture your homeland? Grab your camera and start shooting, you could be in with a chance of winning a Leica camera.
