The talented pastry chef of El Celler de Can Roca joined his brothers at the world-class restaurant upon finishing his education in 1998 and together the trio have continued to explore new worlds of taste and flavour.

Jordi Roca, 'Dessert Man' of El Celler de Can Roca

Like his brothers, Jordi was academically trained at “Escola d’Hostaleria i Turisme” in Girona before joining his family in the El Celler de Can Roca kitchen.

Upon joining the kitchen of 2013’s world best restaurant, Jordi trained under award winning Welsh Pastry Chef, Damian Allsop, whom he credits for his vast knowledge of the food industry. When Allsop left the restaurant in 2000 Jordi became Head Pastry Chef, joining his brothers to create the trio we know today.

Since then, Jordi has opened Rocambolsec, a dessert shop created as a window to the cuisine of El Celler de Can Roca. The gelateria features a range of delicious ice creams paired with sweet desserts you are likely to find in the family-run kitchen.

Jordi Roca is regarded as one of the top dessert experts on the culinary scene having experimented with new and exciting edible fragrances. This talent has not gone unnoticed and Jordi has won several awards including the first World’s Best Pastry Chef Award from The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2014. It is this culinary creativity, along with his brothers, which has earned El Celler de Can Roca its distinguished reputation.

Aside from creating impeccable dishes, Jordi has found time to publish a number of books including “Sweet Sensations” and “Los postres de Jordi Roca” which give readers an insight into the intricate process behind the creation of these innovative desserts.
