The Macallan Sherry Oak Collection’s character is led by European Oak, imbuing a rich and complex taste profile that can be explored in expressions including 12, 18, 25 and 30 Years Old.
The Sherry Oak Collection is rooted in The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland, surrounded by natural beauty. It is here that we distil our precious fruity and robust new make spirit to exacting standards in our Curiously Small Stills. This spirit is then matured in our exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks that reside in our Speyside warehouses, carefully tended by our Whisky Mastery Team.

Matured across 12, 18, 25 or 30 years on our 485 acres of The Macallan Estate, in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. During distillation, the distinctive size and shape of The Macallan Curiously Small Stills contribute a rich and fruity character to our robust new make spirit.

Sherry Meets New Make Spirit & Time at The Estate
Our 485-acre Estate in Speyside, Scotland has been farmed since 1543 and it is here that nature and community conspire to shape The Macallan. At the heart of the Estate stands our spiritual home, Easter Elchies House. Surrounded by pure water from our stretch of the River Spey.
Nature is truly at the heart of The Macallan. As custodians of Speyside, we’re committed to protecting its ecology and wildlife, ensuring it thrives. After being filled safely inside the cask, the whisky matures in the tranquility of the warehouse, mingling with the sherry seasoned oak cask in the fresh Speyside air.
The Estate is the setting where sherry seasoned oak casks meet the new make spirit distilled in The Macallan Distillery and where the maturation begins. The elements of the Estate, the Easter Elchies House, forests, river, nature themes, are set against a rich, complex red background - a symbol of the prominence of European oak. An imprint of the bottle frozen in time talks about ageing.

Sherry Seasoned Excellence
The Macallan’s exceptional European and American oak casks spend time in our Spanish bodegas during which time they are filled with sherry wine to season them.
Over the coming months, sherry wine gently rests within the exceptional oak casks. These sherry seasoned oak casks are then emptied, and transported to our Distillery here in Speyside, Scotland. Upon arrival at The Macallan Estate, these exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks are filled with our robust and fruity new make spirit.
Over years our whiskies will mature, drawing aromas, flavour and natural colour from these sherry seasoned oak casks. An exceptional story of sherry and wood.
