The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 12 years old is created from a trinity of spirits, matured individually in European sherry seasoned oak casks, American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks. Once filled, the maturing spirit remains undisturbed in the same casks for 12 years - after which this complex combination of casks is exquisitely and expertly married together to create this vibrant single malt.

Triple Cask Matured 12 Years Old was previously known as Fine Oak 12 Years Old and offers the same extraordinarily smooth, delicate yet complex character with a new name, new bottle and bold new packaging. Reflecting the quality of our whiskies and unveiling the skills and craft of the Macallan Masters, this new identity for our core range will roll out from the end of April across the world.

It is these oak casks that make the greatest contribution to the quality, natural colour and distinctive aromas and flavours which lie at the heart of The Macallan single malt.

A triple treat of woods influences this variation on the refreshing classic New York Sour and is taken to a new level once the Spanish Rioja is drizzled slowly over the top. Dry yet fruity with the incredible back bone of The Macallan Triple Cask 12 Years Old.

Instructions

1. Add all ingredients to a shaker

2. Shake and pour into an old fashioned glass

3. Drizzle Rioja over the drink

  • 50ml Triple Cask Matured 12 Years Old
  • 20ml Fresh Lemon
  • 15ml Sugar
  • Lace with Rioja
