1995 was a pivotal year both at home and globally, heralding both social and technological advancements that opened up new ways of seeing and connecting our world.

In a year hailed as ‘wildly innovative’, the World Wide Web undergoes a seismic shift, NASA's Galileo arrives in Jupiter, DVDs are invented, and the airwaves are filled with the sounds of the iconic girl and boy bands of the 1990s. Whilst in Scotland, the Skye Road Bridge is completed, and The Macallan Curiously Small Stills appear on the Bank of Scotland's £10 note. A year, like The Fine & Rare Collection, that connects people, time, and place.

The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection is a celebration of place and moments in time, creating a rare opportunity to explore those that have come before us, their trials, their triumphs, how they have shaped our world, through a medium we can consume. Such opportunities are very rare. 

Launched early this century, The Macallan Fine & Rare Collection has grown to become the largest assembly of vintage-dated, single malt whiskies in the world. While the year each was bottled is specific, their longevity is open ended. Should they so wish, their guardians and their descendants could elect to keep them forever. 

They are sensory proof that the skill, vision, and passion that have long distinguished one of the world's greatest spirits remain as sacred today as they have always been.

    Distinct aromas of medjool dates, rich dark cherries and treacle are in the nose along with hints of vanilla, chocolate, ginger and antique oak.

    Distinct aromas of medjool dates, rich dark cherries and treacle are on the nose along with hints of vanilla, chocolate, ginger and antique oak.

  • Palate

    Crystalised ginger, cherries, liquorice and hazelnut give way to dried banana, dark chocolate and sweet oak.

    A long finish complemented with a hint of oak and liquorice.
