The Story Behind The Series

Celebrating A Bygone Era

Drawing on the nostalgia and prestige of the golden age of travel in the 1930s, the story told through each release in this series celebrates the first era of international travel by road, rail, sea and air. A period of luxury and elegance, this was a time when René Lalique arguably created some of his most iconic work.

Launched in 2015, The Golden Age of Travel will culminate in five exquisite Lalique crystal decanters inspired by an iconic mode of transport, containing historic Macallan whiskies. Each decanter is contained within a premium leather presentation box created by leather masters Piñavall in Ubrique, Spain that each evoke the recognisable design elements of classic 1930s travel trunks and luggage.

Exclusive to global travel retail, releases in the series can be found in select airports around the world.
