THE MACALLAN ESTATE OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT FROM STUART CASSELLS, GENERAL MANAGER, THE MACALLAN ESTATE
We are pleased to announce that we will begin a phased re-opening of The Macallan Estate from 26 September 2020.
The past few months have been exceptionally difficult for our community and communities around the world. The impact has been significant, but we are delighted to be able to re-open our doors to guests.
To protect our staff and guests, we will be operating a reduced level of experiences and have undertaken significant staff training to create a safe and welcoming environment, with social distancing and enhanced cleaning schedules at the centre of our re-opening plans.
Our Distillery is at the heart of The Macallan Estate and we look forward to welcoming our guests to the birthplace of The Macallan.

Opening Our Doors
The Macallan Estate will open on 26 September 2020 with two new experiences, taking guests through our history, heritage and The Macallan whisky itself, are now available for booking. Full details of each experience can be found below. Guests can also visit the Distillery to shop at our Boutique, enjoy one of our single malts in The Macallan Bar and experience specialist local Scottish cuisine at the Elchies Brasserie. Dining at Elchies Brasserie is available for pre-booking, by emailing [email protected]
In line with Scottish Government guidance, we will be operating at a reduced capacity and we encourage contactless card payments where possible throughout The Macallan Estate. Guests visiting The Macallan are required to wear a face covering, unless seated for dining or refreshments at the Elchies Brasserie or The Macallan Bar.
The Macallan Estate will reopen with general access at weekends only, with experiences pre-booked through The Macallan website. Guests must be over the age of 18 to take part in The Macallan experiences, whilst guests under the age of 18 are permitted to visit The Elchies Brasserie and The Macallan Boutique.
The Macallan Discovery Experience and The Macallan Mastery Experience are limited to up to six guests from a maximum of two households and will be available on Saturday and Sunday only. The Macallan Discovery Experience
This new experience takes guests through our proud heritage, while exploring the journey from acorn to glass and sampling some of our distinguished single malt whiskies. You will be welcomed with The Macallan roast coffee and home baked scones, before exploring The Macallan Whisky Wall.
You will then be led by one of our friendly and knowledgeable hosts through the Distillery experience, including a guided tour of our iconic Cave Priveé for a tutored tasting of some carefully selected Macallan whiskies, before visiting The Macallan Bar for a final whisky experience.

The Macallan Mastery Experience
This experience delves deeper into the whisky making process and starts with a welcome dram at The Macallan Whisky Wall before enjoying a two-course lunch in our Elchies Brasserie, paired with wines. You will be led on an in-depth production experience through the distillery, before being guided through a tutored tasting of a carefully curated selection of Macallan whiskies in our iconic Cave Priveé.
You will then be invited to The Macallan Bar to experience a Macallan whisky flight. After your experience, our hosts will be available to offer a personal shopping experience in The Macallan Boutique. Guests will each receive an engraved glass to commemorate their visit.

Elchies Brasserie
The Macallan is proud to source the finest local ingredients. The Elchies Brasserie offers great Scottish produce inspired by The Macallan’s iconic Speyside setting and abundant natural larder.
To help you plan your visit and experience, dining at Elchies Brasserie is available for pre-booking, by emailing [email protected] Due to the reduced capacity, we would recommend booking in advance.
Tables at Elchies Brasserie can be booked up to 6pm the evening before your experience booking, where availability allows.

The Macallan Bar
We look forward to welcoming guests back into The Macallan Bar, where you can sample some of our finest whiskies, with panoramic views of the surrounding hills of Speyside. Whilst our experiences must be booked in advance, you do not need to book an experience to enjoy the bar, although it will be open at a reduced capacity.

The Macallan Distillery Boutique
The Macallan Distillery Boutique includes whiskies from our limited collections and special prints, glassware, and gifting items. Upon re-opening, guests will be able to visit the Boutique without a booking for one of our experiences, but this will be at a reduced capacity.
