The Year that Was
Macallan continued production against the growing shadow of war in Europe. Inventor Roy J Plunkett discovered the substance now known as Teflon, and the first ‘Xerox’ image was made in New York. The ever-popular superhero, Superman, appeared in DC Comics, while another flier, Douglas ‘Wrong Way’ Corrigan, took off from New York for California, but landed in Ireland instead.
