Getting Here

Due to the rural setting of The Macallan Estate, there is no public transport that serves the Distillery directly. The nearest train stations are Aviemore, Keith and Elgin, from here you can take a taxi or drive to the Distillery.

While you can use a taxi service, it is recommended to rent a car when visiting, providing both flexibility and freedom to enjoy the area. Please note, it is not safe to walk to The Macallan Distillery, as there are no pedestrian paths along the busy roads that the entrance sits on.

Both Aberdeen and Inverness have international airports. If you are flying into Aberdeen it is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes to drive to the Distillery from the airport. From Inverness Airport the drive is approximately 1 hour to the Distillery.

Practical Tips

Q: What should I wear on the experience?
A: The experiences take place on The Macallan Estate, and as you will enter the production area, we suggest wearing comfortable, layered clothing due to the warmth of our curiously small stills. Sensible footwear is also advised.

Accessibility

Q: Is there disabled access?

Q: Can I bring my dog to The Macallan Estate?

A: Only assistance dogs are permitted on The Macallan Estate and we ask that you bring relevant documentation with you for example Assistance Dogs UK branded ID book. Where possible, we ask that you inform us in advance if you are bringing an assistance dog onto The Macallan Estate. You can contact us on +44 (0)1340 318 000 or email [email protected] to inform us. If you are participating in The Macallan Discovery or Mastery Experience, the flooring within the production area is grated which assistance dogs may find uncomfortable. The Macallan Hosts will be available to assist guests should assistance dogs find the grating unpleasant and be unable to walk across it.
