The Macallan Masters of Photography ‘capture the character of your land’
Vladimir Vyatkin captures the character of Russia
The Masters of Photography: Elliott Erwitt Edition celebrates the unique richness and quirkiness of our Scottish character. From the Highlands and Islands to the cities and shores, plus everywhere in between, Elliott certainly captured the eccentricities of our great Scottish people.
Most recently our Masters of Photography tour hit Russia where award winning photographer Vladimir Vyatkin turned his lens on his homeland to bring Russia’s soul to life. Vladimir’s stunning imagery of prominent figures in sport, art, music and film perfectly portray the very essence of Russia and were exhibited in celebration of The Masters of Photography launch in Moscow.
Like Elliott, Vladimir is credited with some of the world’s finest photography awards including the Golden Eye and six gold medals from the prestigious international organisation World Press Photo. His inspiring prints will be gifted to the Board of Trustees of the International Animal Charity Foundation, Giving Hope, following the exhibition.
In the words of Vladimir himself: “I take pictures with my heart and soul.”
Do you feel inspired by Vladimir’s photography? If so, we’re asking aspiring photographers around the world to capture the heart and soul of their homeland - visit our Masters of Photography website and share your snaps!
As you know, each of Elliott’s 58 images was carefully matched with a unique single cask malt whisky. Our Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno, called the process ‘wonderfully challenging’. He said; ‘tasting the image through the whisky and the whisky through the image on such an unprecedented scale was inspiring.’ From the comfort of your armchair, take a look inside our warehouse and watch Bob take you through the tasting notes of Cask No. 0011176.
