Leica Photographer, Michael Agel captures the characters at The Macallan
The Macallan’s characters captured
Leica photographer, Michael Agel, much like his idol and our Masters of Photography star; Elliott Erwitt, ventured on a journey to our homeland to explore the rich heritage, beautiful landscapes and colourful characters that define The Macallan.
From the comfort of the warm fire in Easter Elchies House to the banks of the River Spey, we welcomed Michael to explore our land and capture the very heart of The Macallan and our people.
Michael, who has shot for Rolling Stones magazine and photographed music legends such as Jamie Cullum and Bryan Adams while on tour, turned his lens to the people at The Macallan, resulting in four stunning portraits reflecting the true craft of photography with the passion and talent of those at The Macallan.
Over the next two weeks join us and Leica as we share with you the true characters behind the world’s most precious single malt. So, sit back, dram in hand and discover the man behind the malt; Bob Dalgarno...
Bob Dalgarno, Whisky Maker
Having worked for The Macallan since 1984 and working his way up from warehouseman to Whisky Maker, Bob’s passion and skill for identifying a good whisky soon became apparent and in 2000 he was formally appointed, Whisky Maker. Often considered an industry leader, Bob has a nose for whisky and an unprecedented understanding of wood maturation. A modest man, Bob is seen here amongst a warehouse full of sherry-seasoned oak casks nosing his creation which he diligently dedicates his time to.
Since 1824, here at Easter Elchies Estate we have built our reputation on our unique processes and our very special characters - we’d like to thank Michael Agel for capturing the characters of our homeland.
