Sir Peter Blake's Artistic Inspiration Captured by Mary McCartney

    Anecdotes of Ages

Sir Peter Blake and Mary McCartney discuss how the stories of The Macallan’s past and present created inspiration for Mary’s photography of The Anecdotes of Ages Collection.

    ON THE MACALLAN ESTATE

Represented on 13 unique bottle labels created by Sir Peter Blake, The Anecdotes of Ages Collection tells stories from our history, our community, and the beautiful natural landscape of The Macallan Estate.

Renowned photographer Mary McCartney captured this collection, conveying the spirit of the people, and the value of place that is The Macallan Estate. Each bottle of this 1967 single malt whisky adorns a collage style label, designed by Sir Peter Blake and captured by Mary McCartney on The Macallan Estate in locations representative of the anecdote they depict. Together, they share stories of their time at The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland.

    ABOUT MARY MCCARTNEY

Based in London, England, Mary McCartney is a British photographer, director, food writer, TV presenter and Global Meat Free Ambassador. A photographer for over two decades, McCartney is entirely self-taught, and best known for her portrait photography.

An affinity with Scotland and the natural environment informs Mary’s intimate photographic style, which comes across in her images of The Anecdotes of Ages Collection.

Mary McCartney’s photography is testament to acute observation, in compositions both striking and sensitive. Her art speaks softly, as her attention turns from customary portraiture to bringing strands of this distinct narrative to life through these images.
