THE ESTATE BY NATHAN YONG
Within this creative space, Nathan has crafted an exclusive sculpture, meticulously fashioned from exquisite green onyx, designed to showcase The Macallan's unparalleled single malt whiskies. These remarkable sculptures draw inspiration from and elegantly mirror the contours of the River Spey, a defining element of The Macallan Estate.
Titled "The Estate by Nathan Yong," this visual masterpiece welcomes visitors to The Macallan House Singapore, serving as a captivating statement piece as they embark on their journey through the Arboretum

Meet Nathan Yong
Nathan Yong is a highly accomplished Singaporean designer whose work spans industrial design, graphics, interior design, architectural design, strategic planning in product development, manufacturing process and branding.
Throughout his career, Nathan has been received several prestigious awards for his work, including the Red Dot Concept Design Award, which he won for two consecutive years in 2006 and 2007; and the Singapore President’s Design Award: Designer of the Year 2008 - the highest honour accorded to designers from all creative disciplines in Singapore.
Nathan's background and inspiration
In his early years, Nathan's creative journey led him across the globe, spanning countries as diverse as India, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. It was during these travels that he immersed himself in the world of sourcing materials and collaborating with skilled artisans and manufacturers to craft exquisite furniture and home accessories. These experiences not only exposed him to diverse production techniques but also kindled a passion for craftsmanship that would become an integral part of his creative identity.
Today, he operates a multifaceted design consultancy practice headquartered in Singapore. Among his illustrious clientele are renowned international furniture brands, including Design Within Reach (USA), Herman Miller (USA), LigneRoset (France), and Living Divani (Italy).
His work is inspired by observation of the visual environment and challenges the existential questions of the objects. Instead of superfluous details, he captures the poetry of products through a stripping process, lending object qualities that are informed by a lightness of restraints.
We are driven to find the story, the existential meaning of an object and the ways in which people connect with them.
