Time : Space Collection
To commemorate The Macallan’s significant milestone of turning 200 Years Young, we embark on a journey where time ebbs and flows and nature protects what is fragile and precious, with spikes surrounding what is beautiful and fragile.
Through two limited single malt whisky expressions, we have created a new red spiky world; a visual language where time travel and nature connect and protecting spikes are the heroes.
TIME TRAVEL
At The Macallan, we believe whisky making is like time travel: what we bottle today was created many years in the past, and the spirit we lay down in casks now is destined for many years in the future. Through time travelling, we learn from the past and look to the future.
The World of TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask
The Macallan TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask is the first whisky to be influenced by sherry casks seasoned with our Valdespino sherry, since coming under The Macallan’s ownership. It celebrates a shared future with Valdespino, deepening our enduring connection to the home of sherry wine, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
Journey into a fantastical land - a world shaped by the forces that bring The Macallan’s Mastery Beyond Reason to life - where Scotland, Spain and the USA exist together in one perpetual sphere. Inspired by the circular shape of TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask, a landscape exists entirely under the custodianship of Caskera, a living embodiment of our mastery, who guides and defines every part of this world.
The Harmony of Nature, Mastery and Time
A world shaped by the forces behind The Macallan's Mastery Beyond Reason, this landscape exists entirely under the custodianship of Caskera, a living embodiment of our mastery. From her position atop a rocky crag at the heart of a cascading waterfall abyss, she guides and defines every part of this realm.
Inspired by 'Woody', the sleeping cask character from our first cinematic advertorial in the 1990s, Caskera searches the landscape with her tendrils, awakening only when each element has reached the exacting standard required to form the exceptional character of The Macallan.

“It was an absolute privilege to be able to reach back in time and select stock from 1940 to honour and celebrate our 200 Year Anniversary. As a Whisky Mastery Team, our roles are unique in the sense that we get to time travel – selecting whisky from the past crafted by our predecessors, whilst simultaneously laying down casks for future generations of whisky makers and consumers.
