The mastery involved in shaping these trees into exquisite sherry seasoned oak casks is one that takes years to refine, and culminates in The Macallan Double Cask.

Steve McCurry and The Macallan

As one of the most iconic voices in contemporary photography for more than 30 years, Steve McCurry has been recognized with some of the most prestigious awards in the industry. His work spans conflicts, vanishing cultures, ancient traditions and contemporary culture alike - yet always retains an authentic human element.

McCurry first collaborated with The Macallan on our new Distillery and Visitor Experience build, completed in 2018. The project spanned six years, and he was given an open brief to document and tell the story from start to finish through his lens. This freedom resulted in a series of photographs that reveal both the mastery of McCurry’s medium and the true essence of this dedicated journey to build our new brand home for The Macallan.
