The TIME : SPACE Vessel reveals two chambers: an outer chamber holding the 1940 vintage, representing the past, and an inner chamber holding the 2018 vintage, representing the future.The two extraordinary whiskies of TIME : SPACE are presented in a circular Vessel and a unique wooden structure. Its iconic design honours time travel and nature's protection.

Unboxing, Usage & Care Instructions

TIME : SPACE is packed in protective transit packaging designed to ensure it arrives in excellent condition. This pack weighs 91kg. For safety and ease, it is recommended that four people lift the box when carrying it full.Position the transit box in, or near the location where TIME : SPACE will be displayed. Note TIME : SPACE must not be displayed in direct sunline, extreme temperatures or in areas with high humidity.There may be a cardboard wrap banded around the case, though this may have been removed by a retailer. If this is present, remove it with care so it can be reapplied should you wish. Alternatively recycle this part.Scan the QR code which is engraved onto the metal plaque on the outside lid of transit case. This will give you access to view this instruction in a video format.Two people are required to unpack and set up TIME : SPACE.&nbsp;Unfasten the clasps which secure the lid. With one person at each end, lift off the lid and place it to one side. Lift off the protective top cover of foam. This will create access to all the component parts to TIME : SPACE ready for removal.Take the Care Kit box (located above the Display Sculpture). This contains gloves to protect TIME : SPACE while setting it up. A lint free cloth and brush for dusting are also included.Take out the Companion Guide book (located above the Care Kit). The Companion Guide arrives in a protective book sleeve. This can be retained or recycled.The Companion Guide contains information about TIME : SPACE as well as care &amp; usage instructions. It also includes a copy of the QR code to allow future access to the unboxing, usage and care film.Put on the gloves provided before unboxing and setting up TIME : SPACE. Two people should jointly lift the Display Sculpture (the large wooden piece with the red metal spikes) and gently place it in the final location TIME : SPACE is to be displayed.A Serving Cradle has been created to enable you to move your TIME : SPACE whiskies to wherever you wish to enjoy them. Remove the Serving Cradle from the top left of the transit box by pulling upwards using the dust bag as a handle to grip.Place on a surface and remove the Serving Cradle from the dust bag. The dust bag can be returned to the transit case for storage.Now it is time to remove the TIME : SPACE Vessel. Using the dust bag, pull the Vessel from the top right hand of the transit case, and gently place it, still in its bag, onto the Serving Cradle. Carefully pull down the dust bag, and remove it from the bottom of the Vessel, ensuring the Vessel is safely positioned on the Serving Cradle.&nbsp;Make any final adjustments to the location of the Display Sculpture, as this must not be moved when it contains the Vessel.&nbsp;Once you are happy with the position of your Display Sculpture, you can place your Vessel in the centre of it. To do this, position the bottom of the Vessel first into the leather centre, and push the top part back. Press the centre of the Vessel to ensure that it is fully in place. Ensure the branding is centred and horizontal.The Vessel is dual fronted, therefore it can go in either way round in the Display Sculpture.The Display Sculpture has been designed with an Oculus cut out which is positioned behind the Vessel. This allows ambient light to flow through the Vessel and highlight the natural colour of the whiskies.The transit case can now be closed. It is recommended this is retained for future storage or transit needs.This unique Vessel has been created in a circular form to represent the multigenerational circle life at The Macallan, with 200 spikes incorporated into the design of the Display Sculpture, each representing a year in the history of The Macallan.Wherever you wish to enjoy The Macallan TIME : SPACE you must use the Serving Cradle. Do not move the Display Sculpture with the Vessel in situ.TIME : SPACE time travels. It contains the past and future in two interlocked Vessel chambers, a 1940 vintage in one, and a 2018 vintage in the other.Only 200 of The Macallan TIME : SPACE have been created. Your unique vessel number is hidden in the over-cap for the 1940 Vintage whisky in the outer chamber. It is embossed into the leather on the underside.

Delivery

To pour either the 1940 or 2018 Vintage, please sit the Vessel in the Serving Cradle.Two pourers have been supplied and are stored in a drawer to the rear of the Serving Cradle. If serving both whiskies at the same sitting, please use a different pourer for each Vessel, to ensure the whiskies are not mixed.Select one pourer, place to one side and close the drawer.To pour the 1940 Vintage, first lift off the over-cap on the top of the Vessel and place it to one side, leather side down.Open the Vessel by unscrewing the bottle closure and place to one side. Gently insert the pourer with a twisting motion until you feel resistance. Do not use force.Ensure the opening of the pourer faces to the front or back (not to the wider sides). Twist to adjust if required.&nbsp;Carefully pour a measure of whisky into a glass.Return the Vessel to the Serving Cradle once your required number of serves have been poured. Please enjoy The Macallan responsibly.When finished with this Vessel, carefully twist the pourer to remove. Replace the bottle closure and screw until tightly closed, before replacing the over-cap.Once the pourer has been cleaned and dried, it can be rehoused in the drawer. (see care instructions section for details on how to do this).To serve the 2018 Vintage, access the inner Vessel by removing the decorative cover disc.To remove, please rotate the disc anticlockwise by circa 70 degrees until you feel the rotation stop. Please note this is the start position to replace the disc to close.Place the cover to one side. While holding the main body of the Vessel, gently twist and pull the central Vessel out by its closure to remove it from the centre, and place it down on its flat base.Unscrew the bottle closure and put to one side.Gently insert a pourer with a twisting motion until you feel resistance. Do not use force.The pourer opening may face any direction on this Vessel.Carefully pour a measure of whisky into a glass. Please enjoy The Macallan responsibly.When finished with this vessel, carefully twist the pourer to remove. Replace the bottle closure, and screw until tightly closed.Carefully push the Vessel back into the larger one, using a rotating motion if required. Ensure The Macallan branding is horizontal.To replace the cover, locate the top centre of Easter Elchies House with the locating mark on the inside rim of the central metalwork. The locating mark is a silver dot.When the centre of the top of Easter Elchies House is lined up with the locator dot, push the disc down and rotate clockwise until it stops.&nbsp;Once the pourer has been cleaned and dried, it can be rehoused in the drawer. (see care instructions section for details on how to do this).After enjoying The Macallan TIME : SPACE whiskies, carefully return the Vessel back to the display sculpture.As per initial set up, make sure the Vessel is straight and pushed fully in place.

Consumption

Environmental Conditions:All contents must be stored at room temperature.Exposure to extreme temperatures, high levels of humidity and direct sunlight must be avoided. When not on display or in use, we recommend that the TIME : SPACE is repacked and stored in the original transit case.Cleaning &amp; Maintenance:To maintain the appearance of The Macallan TIME : SPACE, some basic care is required. Gloves, a dusting brush and a polishing cloth are included in the care kit for your convenience.Use the soft brush provided to gently dust the metal spikes as required. The lint free cloth can be used to lightly polish any marks from surfaces.Where branding and logos are present, please take extra care. Use a gently dabbing motion, rather than wiping.Should any areas of the glass, metal, wood or leather become marked, slightly dampen the polishing cloth with warm and lightly soapy water then gently wipe the surface before drying the area with kitchen paper.Dry any spilt whisky from surfaces immediately to prevent the alcohol from tarnishing the finish.Two pourers are provided. If pouring both whiskies in the same sitting, please use a separate pourer for each whisky. After use, please hand wash the pourers in warm soapy water, rinse with clean water and allow to air dry fully before returning them to the drawer.Storage &amp; Transit:To store or transit TIME : SPACE, please repack the transit crate as shown returning all components to their original position.
