The Macallan invites you to explore new ways to savour our single malt whisky, through exceptional serves and enticing pairings, created in collaboration with El Celler de Can Roca.

Crafted to be enjoyed confidently, every element, from flavour to garnish and glassware, is chosen to enhance the character of the whisky within.

This serve celebrates the complexity, smoothness and distinct character of The Macallan Rare Cask, shaped by the perfect combination of sherry seasoned European oak casks crafted in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

The Macallan Rare Cask

The Macallan Rare Cask is defined by a rare and elusive character. Its naturally present raisin sweetness, imbued by European oak, is exceptionally difficult to find - revealed only through the careful, considered selection of each cask over time.

A rich Valdespino vermouth reduction draws out these distinctive raisin notes, reflecting the sherry seasoned casks that shape the whisky's depth of flavour and aroma.

Make the serve

Step 1

Pour 50ml of The Macallan Rare Cask into the glass

Step 2

For The Valdespino Vermouth reduction, add the vermouth to a pan. Cook over low heat until the vermouth has a slightly viscous consistency reminiscent of tree resin. Once cooled, pour into the glass.

Step 3

Use a pipette to apply six drops of Valdespino vermouth reduction to the edge of The Macallan Rocks Glass and enjoy.
