The Macallan proudly unveils the latest expression 110 Proof, a bold new Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Bottled at 55% ABV, the release offers an interpretation of the renowned Sherry Oak 12 Years Old, intensifying its character and unlocking new dimensions of depth and flavour. 110 proof will launch exclusively across select global retailers and global travel channels.
The Macallan 110 Proof is a 12 Years Old Sherry Oak expression, matured in predominately sherry seasoned European Oak casks, renowned for its rich and complex flavours. By presenting this expression at a higher strength, The Macallan 110 Proof delivers an added distinction, amplifying the signature notes of fruit, spice and oak, while revealing new layers of character.
The higher strength enhances the flavour profile, enriching the texture and intensifying the complexity imparted by the European oak casks that define our Sherry Oak Whisky. This delivers a deeper, more immersive tasting experience, adding a new dimension to a classic favourite. The Macallan 110 Proof opens with indulgent aromas of sticky dates, cherry compote, cinnamon, cacao nibs and dried orange slices. On the palate, rich oak and sultanas combine with stem ginger, star anise and mandarin, alongside notes of dark chocolate coated espresso beans. The finish is long and warming, unfolding in layers of treacle toffee, mocha and sweet cinnamon. Its amber hue and full-bodied character capture the timeless influence of sherry seasoned oak casks.
