Unpacking your product

Cut the tape and remove the protective foam end.&nbsp;Tilt the full cardboard box onto the floor so it is resting in a horizontal position. The retractable handle on the black case should be closest to the floor.&nbsp;Using the flight case handle, pull the black case out of the cardboard box onto the floor.&nbsp;To lift the flight case onto a table or elevated surface to unpack, please ensure this is lifted by two people using the handle at each side of the box. The case should only ever be handled by two people due to its weight.&nbsp;

UNPACKING FROM THE CARDBOARD BOX

To open, turn the black fly clips anti-clockwise and lift the case lid.&nbsp;Using the two handles, lift the protective leather insert and place to the side.&nbsp;

OPENING THE FLIGHT CASE

Remove your Owner’s Guide and read before handling your product.&nbsp;Put on the gloves provided before touching the product. These are located underneath the Owner’s Guide.&nbsp;Using the leather pull tabs, remove the plinth from the bottom left-hand corner and place on a flat and steady surface. Please note, the plinth is not symmetrical and it is important to follow the subsequent guidelines to ensure the correct positioning.&nbsp;Uncover the sculpture from its protective wrap and then use the leather pull tabs to carefully remove the sculpture from the case using two hands, ensuring minimal contact with the copper.&nbsp;Place the sculpture onto the plinth slightly off centre. The lowest end of the plinth is positioned on the same side as the open end of the sculpture, which will be the same side as the vessel’s closure when inserted. The Macallan and Bentley logos should be positioned towards the direction of the right-hand side and the logos should also be positioned horizontally so fully legible. Please refer to the photo diagrammatic above as a reference to ensure you have positioned this correctly before removing the vessel from the flight case.Open the blanket protecting the glass vessel and then use the leather pull tabs to remove this from the case using both hands. Please do not hold the vessel by the aluminium over-cap.&nbsp;The vessel will then be inserted into the sculpture through a full 180-degree twist motion, so the final position as per the photo diagrammatic.To insert, the vessel should be positioned so that the base of the vessel (the end which does not open) is positioned at the right-hand side of the sculpture (closest to the logos) and the Horizon logo should be facing downwards.&nbsp;The vessel should be twisted into the sculpture to reveal the Horizon branding at the front of the product.

UNPACKING THE MACALLAN HORIZON 

To pour the whisky, twist the vessel out of the sculpture. Please ensure you always use two hands and never stand the product in the vertical position to avoid risk of damage.Remove the security sticker from the vessel, slide the over-cap and unscrew the closure.&nbsp;Once poured, ensure the closure is securely fastened and slide the over-cap back into position before returning the vessel into the sculpture.&nbsp;

POURING THE MACALLAN HORIZON 

One of the natural properties of copper is that it develops a patina. This is a change to the surface which protects the metal underneath. Over time, the copper will change colour, maturing from a shiny brass colour to a darker, matt brown.&nbsp;After a number of years this can potentially develop into blue and green colours, this is a completely natural and a charmingly unique characteristic of the material.If the copper is kept in a humid environment and/or is handled, this change can happen more quickly.&nbsp; Regular polishing can minimise this.

NATURAL PATINA

Due to its overall weight, please only ever lift the case with two people using the two handles at each side of the flight case.&nbsp;To maintain your sculpture and vessel’s appearance, some basic care is required:&nbsp;Please wear gloves when handling the display sculpture. A polishing cloth and gloves are provided for your convenience.&nbsp;Aluminium can dull over time, and polishing helps to retain its brightness.To clean the copper, use the cloth to gently wipe the exposed metal.To clean the aluminium, leather and wood lightly dampen the cloth with warm soapy water and wipe surfaces gently,&nbsp;then pat dry with an absorbent cloth.Avoid using any abrasive cloths, polish or chemicals as they will damage the finish of all surfaces. Where branding or logos are present, use extra care to gently dab these areas, do not rub as it could cause damage.When storing within the flight case,&nbsp;please ensure the protective wraps are used and all components are returned to their original position.&nbsp;&nbsp;

HANDLING & CARE

It is recommended that The Macallan Horizon is displayed and stored at room temperature.Exposure to extreme temperatures, high levels of humidity, and direct sunlight should be avoided. When The Macallan Horizon is not on display or in use, it is recommended that the transit case is used to store all components.
