A Night on Earth, The Finale
The Macallan has launched A Night on Earth, The Finale, the fifth and final release in its celebrated A Night on Earth collection, bringing the acclaimed series to a close with a special edition single malt Scotch whisky that pays tribute to the music, culture and unmistakable character of New Orleans.
Just as every new year marks both an ending and a beginning, A Night on Earth, The Finale celebrates the traditions of New Year's Eve through the lens of one of the world's most vibrant cultural capitals. Inspired by the city's legendary music, diverse communities and enduring sense of celebration, the scotch whisky reflects the warmth, optimism and anticipation that accompany the turning of the year.
Matured in a combination of exceptional sherry seasoned American and European oak casks, the special edition expression has been crafted by The Macallan’s Whisky Mastery Team to echo the soulful flavours and spirited aromas of New Orleans. Rich sweetness from the sherry seasoned American oak is balanced by warming spice from the sherry seasoned European oak, creating a harmonious flavour profile that pays homage to the city's celebrated cuisine and cocktail culture. Widely regarded as the birthplace of the cocktail, New Orleans has long embraced the art of invention and flavour, inspiring a fine whisky that is unmistakably The Macallan while paying tribute to one of the world's most influential culinary destinations.
The release continues The Macallan's tradition of collaborating with new artists annually to showcase the end of year celebrations. For The Finale, New Orleans-born artist Hill Spriggins draws upon her own memories of New Year's celebrations in the city, translating its rhythm, colour and community spirit into three bold, expressive artworks that feature across the different layers of the packaging. The outer pack uses a textured material that echoes the feel of canvas, further bringing Hill's original paintings and artistic style to life.
From bustling jazz clubs and vibrant streets to quieter moments of reflection as dawn breaks, her illustrations capture the rhythm, colour and spirit of New Orleans, celebrating the joy, resilience and optimism that define both the city and the turning of the year. Together, the artwork and whisky pay tribute to a city that dances through time, honouring its enduring creativity while celebrating the excitement of what comes next.
