NEW YEAR MEMORIES
Nini’s sweetest New Year memories come alive through the effervescent burst of fireworks, the familiar aroma of toasted oak wafting from the carts of rice popcorn vendors along the brightly adorned streets of her hometown, the comforting presence of milk candy in her pocket, and the inviting scent of steamed rice pudding calling her home.
The whisky also carries a nutty undertone, reminiscent of the sunflower seeds that Nini's family shared while laughing and discussing their aspirations for the upcoming year.
"The steam coming off hot food during the New Year dinner is one of the most vivid ‘home’ feelings I remember. I wanted to re-create that atmosphere, those precious moments of gathering and reunion under a bright moon bringing us all together. During this time of the year, people who work in big cities go through the world’s largest annual human migration to go back to their hometowns for the moment of reunion with their families and friends. When the fire is lit inside and paper lanterns hang from the roof, you know there is someone there waiting for you to come home so they can welcome you with a hot meal and a hug."

Nini Sum, a mixed-media artist based in Shanghai, China, is known for her limited edition art prints, captivating collages, stunning mural paintings, and impactful public art. She is also the co-founder, alongside Gregor Koerting, of IdleBeats, China's first independent screen printing studio.
Nini's artistic prowess extends globally, being one of the six international artists with whom Adobe collaborated in 2020, and one of the three artists invited by Adidas for ‘Women In Power’ sportswear collection, released worldwide in more than 30 countries.
