A demonstration of The Macallan's Mastery Beyond Reason and the influence of our sherry seasoned oak casks, it celebrates a shared future with Valdespino, deepening The Macallan's enduring connection to the home of sherry wine, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask began its journey on The Macallan Estate, drawing on a remarkable selection of sherry seasoned oak casks. This exceptional whisky was further elevated through its marriage in a selection of the first 200 sherry casks which were seasoned in The Macallan's Valdespino bodega in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Crafted in our cooperages, these exceptional oak casks arrived at The Macallan in 2024 as part of our 200th anniversary celebrations.

The World
The circular landscape is inspired by the Collection’s distinctive circular vessel, shaped by the forces that bring The Macallan's Mastery Beyond Reason to life. It offers a panoramic view of our journey across the USA, Spain and Scotland - from grape to sherry seasoned oak cask, to exceptional single malt whisky.

Caskera
Inspired by 'Woody', the sleeping cask character from The Macallan's first cinematic advertorial in the 1990s, Caskera is a powerful presence at the centre of this world and a living embodiment of The Macallan's mastery, guiding and defining every part of the landscape under her custodianship.
Caskera sits atop a rocky crag at the heart of a cascading waterfall abyss, searching the landscape with her tendrils and awakening only when each element has reached the exacting standard required to form the exceptional character of The Macallan.
Around Caskera, The Macharnudo, a community of skilled inhabitants and master craftspeople inspired by the revered terroir of Jerez de la Frontera, work in harmony, tending the land and carefully shaping its natural resources with precision and care. Their shared dedication converges in a single defining moment: the creation of The Macallan single malt whisky.
The Circle of Light
As the sun rises, revealed as the TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask vessel, a journey begins within its circle of light. From this radiant source, we follow Caskera’s tendril into the Grape Jungle, where sunlight nourishes the grapes.
Under the Andalusian sun – an essential influence in the creation of sherry wine – the grapes ripen before a community of skilled inhabitants, The Macharnudo, gather to harvest them at their peak.
The Macharnudo inhabitants are a physical manifestation of community and nature in Jerez de la Frontera, their form shaped from a fusion of grape, vine and oak. Inspired by Macharnudo Alto, revered as the Grand Cru of Jerez, their name reflects this exceptional terroir, to which The Macallan has exclusive access through our ownership of Valdespino sherry bodega.
The harvested grapes infuse Caskera, awakening and transforming her. Just as The Macallan TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask is defined over time through the whisky’s two distinct interactions with freshly sherry seasoned oak casks.
From this harmony of nature, mastery and time, an exceptional whisky is born – rising skyward as both the embodiment of the sun and the continuous eternal flow of time.

The Whisky
TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask is shaped by two distinct interactions with freshly sherry seasoned oak. Its unique maturation journey introduces a distinctive second chapter of sherry cask influence, progressing from sherry oak cask maturation to sherry oak cask marrying.
Beginning its journey on The Macallan Estate, the character of this whisky is drawn from a remarkable selection of sherry seasoned oak casks before being married in a selection of our first sherry casks which were seasoned in our Valdespino bodega in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
Under the careful custodianship of the Whisky Mastery Team, the whisky was further shaped and refined through a considered marrying period, deepening in complexity and layered richness.

Presented in the Collection’s distinctive circular vessel, TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask embodies the continuous flow of time. Its circular form echoes the whisky’s passage through time, guided full circle under the careful custodianship of our Whisky Mastery Team.
The presentation box pays tribute to the craft of sherry making and its importance to The Macallan. The circular design of the interior take inspiration from palomino grapes cultivated in our Valdespino vineyards in Jerez de la Frontera, which produce the sherry wine used to season our casks. The warm yellow hue recalls the golden Andalusian sun filtering through ripening grapes - an essential influence in the creation of sherry wine.
Together, the vessel and presentation box honour The Macallan’s past and present, while signalling a new chapter in our long‑standing commitment to Jerez de la Frontera, the home of sherry wine, deepened through our ownership of Valdespino at its heart.
