Colour Collection 12 Years Old
The Colour Collection 12 Years Old presents a single malt whisky which has been matured in American oak casks, harmoniously complemented with a subtle inclusion from European oak.
The Collection is a celebration of our sherry journey beginning in our vineyards in Jerez. The sherry wine that we use as the seasoner in our exceptional oak casks and the spectrum of natural colour derived from the interaction with the sherry seasoned oak.
The youngest whisky in the Collection and the age statement with the lightest Natural Colour, Colour Collection 12 Years Old exhibits a golden oak hue, with tasting notes of sweet oak, lemon and vanilla.
The reimagined The Macallan Colour Collection expressions will be available from key travel locations from early 2026.

THE COLOURS OF JEREZ
We associate the youngest whisky in the range with the pale terroir of Jerez and Andalusia, known as albero. The colour of the 12 Years Old transports us to the streets of Jerez, showcasing the lightest natural hue of the city’s pale terroir: a golden oak tone.
Albero (Spanish for earthy yellow) is a colour associated with traditional Spanish aesthetics, commonly seen in architecture and landscapes in Andalusia. The shade embodies a sense of warmth and connection to nature.
The liquid above the bottle represents sherry, and the pattern in white is a link to the wood policy for Colour Collection that has a character that led by American oak. Authentic and complex earthy colours speak of the terroir of Jerez and are reflected in the design colour palette of the Collection.

The packaging colours for the 12 Years Old have been carefully chosen to complement the tone of the whisky within, echoing the strikingly pale terroir of Jerez de la Frontera. The Macallan Colour Collection 12 Years Old is the youngest whisky in the range and the age statement with the lightest Natural Colour: a golden oak hue, evoking its tasting notes of sweet oak, lemon and vanilla.
Bordering the expansive Atlantic Ocean, Jerez is another worldly land of hot summers, resilient vineyards and fine wines. This is where The Macallan’s oak casks are seasoned with fine sherry, critical to creating exceptional single malt whisky with a profoundly lustrous Natural Colour.
